On Sunday, the Washington Redskins will look to play the spoiler role when they take on NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas still has a shot at winning the NFC East and making the playoffs, and if they're able to get by Washington this week they'll keep their chances alive. If they lose however, their season will be over after next week, according to ESPN.
The Cowboys are no longer the elite franchise they used to be in the mid-90's. Many fans are looking to place the blame somewhere, and a lot of it falls on the owner Jerry Jones and quarterback Tony Romo. While Romo is a top 10 quarterback, he tends to choke in big moments, therefore costing the Cowboys games that if they would have won, they wouldn't be in the position they're in now.
For the Redskins, they're looking to take advantage of Dallas's lackluster defense, as the Cowboys are ranked last in the NFL in pass defense and total defense, so the Redskins will likely have the opportunity to put up a lot of points. If they put up some points early, that's trouble for Dallas, as Romo is not very good at leading a team back to victory.
Currently, the Redskins are on a six game losing streak and have decided to bench quarterback Robert Griffin the 3rd for the remainder of the season. Dallas has lost their last two games, and have struggled here in the month of December. Washington is without a doubt looking to add to Dallas's December woes and spoil a potential playoff berth for the Cowboys. Dallas is a slight favorite in the matchup against their NFC East rivals. They're going to be playing on the road against a Redskins team that isn't very good, so they should be able to take care of business.
